There is a lot of cheap property you can buy in Romania today. The prices on property has gone up since they join EU 1 Jan 2007, but still, you can find a 100 000m2 vineyard property in Romania for silly money! Check with any Romanian Estate Agent that offers vineyards in Romania and you will be surprised at the very low prices.

Romania is a former Eastern block country but they where always a good wine producer. Romanian wine might not be known as the “top of the range wine” but can certainly be good.

 

Keep in mind that Romanian vineyards where often part of a bigger “cooperative” during the communist era and very few of the smaller vineyards have a wine producing facilities on the land, or even a house. But it can of course be built. Building what you need on property in Romania with very little paper work.

Labour for a vineyard is of course available and is very very cheap in Romania. This all means that you can own a little vineyard for the lowest possible investment, employ local cheap labour and you yourself can concentrate on selling the wine. This is maybe where the advantage of buying a Romanian vineyard ends. The Romanian vineyards sell there wine cheap, so you need to look at volume instead of high price. But then again, why could not your new bought Romanian vineyard produce a popular and high paying wine!
